You are specially invited to re-discover Madagascar through its folksongs (local country music) of the 70's, 80's and 90's. These periods marked unprecedented social and cultural changes in Malagasy history and still have tremendous impact on the spirit of generations of Malagasy to this day. Interestingly, the 'folk' music during these periods was both the seed and fruit of these changes.  The ‘folk’ music has ever since become a principal component of the heart and mind of Malagasy society.

This event, the third edition of its kind, was named 'MAMPI-FOLKA', which literally means 'to make you tune in to the folk ambiance'. Top compositions of the legendary Malagasy ‘folk’ groups such as 'Mahaleo', 'Lolo sy ny Tariny', 'Tselonina' , ‘Samoela' and others is the trademark of MampiFolka. But, this time, talented Malagasy musicians, along with the audience, will sing Folk and the real roots Malagasy music.
During the event, there will be some brief discussions about the philosophy and history behind the lyrics of the songs.  The ambiance will be one of discovery and fun so come along with your family and friends.
